Since 1988, the Matthews Woman's Club Service League has been dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Our purpose is "to know and understand others better while raising funds to support non-profit organizations."
Meeting the 2nd Thursday of the month, from September to May, meetings generally consist of light refreshments, an informative program, and a short business meeting. The members of the MWCSL take great pride in the accomplishments of their club and are committed to making their community, state, and nation a better place to live and work. In working together for common goals, a sisterhood is felt that binds the membership.
Incorporated in 1879, Matthews, North Carolina was a small farming community, growing mostly cotton. Historic downtown Matthews continues to flourish. In 1996, ten of the early downtown buildings were placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Now, with boundaries of 13 square miles and over 20,000 people, Matthews has retained the quaint, small-town atmosphere so enjoyed by its citizens.
Matthews Woman's Club Service League is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and a member of Matthews Human Services Council and Matthews Chamber of Commerce.
The Matthews Woman's Club Service League is always looking for new members to share in our vision of helping the community. Our purpose is "to know and understand others better while raising funds to support non-profit organizations."
We invite you to come as our guest to any of our meetings and learn more about the MWCSL. If you would like to become a member, you may do so at the meeting. Dues are $25 per year. Our meetings are held September through May. Our calendar contains our meeting dates, times, and locations.
